The Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation will open its doors to the public in June 2026. Over the decades and thanks to the Festival, Annecy has gradually become the world capital of animation film. The Cité exemplifies this by blending heritage and innovation within a vibrant urban setting on the unique, preserved Haras site, nestled between the lake and mountains.

The Cité aims to become a leading cultural venue and symbol for the vitality and boldness of animated creation through its animation film museum, extensive exhibitions, cinema, artist residency programmes, as well as its spaces and attractions entirely dedicated to the general public.

The Cité Endowment Fund

An endowment fund has been created to support the public interest activities taking place at the Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation. It enables patrons to donate and support CITIA's three key areas:

Making animation film accessible to the widest audience possible through the curation and coordination of the Major Exhibitions at the Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation,
Supporting the teaching and transmission of animation film through artistic and cultural education initiatives and programmes,
Supporting artistic creation and the emergence of new talent by organising artist residencies at the Cité, culminating in the presentation of the artistic works produced during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The Cité Endowment Fund is supported by the Fondation de France and can receive donations from abroad. Please contact us for further information.
