The Musée du cinéma d'animation

See you in June 2026!

A one-of-a-kind permanent exhibition where visitors can explore and learn about the history, founding principles and diversity of animation film.

At the heart of a 450 m² permanent exhibition space dedicated to animation film, the "Musées de France" collections at the Musée-Château d'Annecy offer a unique journey through the evolution of techniques, styles and imaginations that have shaped the history of the 7th art form, animation film.

The collections have grown considerably over the years to include original works, rare objects and exclusive interviews. They reflect Annecy's growing status as the world capital of animation film and makes this collection a genuine showcase of global animated creation.

Thanks to the scientific curatorship provided by the Musée-Château d'Annecy, supported by an ambitious museography designed by abmuseo and an inventive scenography by scenorama, the Musée invites visitors to explore the magical and prolific world of animation film.
