The Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation is coming to Annecy
Where do we start?
Since the creation of the International Animation Film Festival in 1960, Annecy has steadily become the world capital of animation. It is a story spanning several decades, which finds its most fitting expression in the Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation, where heritage and innovation converge in the heart of an everyday urban setting nestled in the mountains.
"The creation of La Cité will not only be key for Annecy, but also for the world. Annecy stands as a beacon for animation and La Cité will become a center of excellence and learning." Guillermo del Toro

A place to unwind, indulge, have fun and recharge your batteries
Set within a magnificent 2.6-hectare landscaped park, the Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation will be housed alongside the Halle du Haras and the Villa du Haras.
A haven of peace right in the centre of Annecy, the 2.6-hectare landscaped public park, with its hundreds of trees and plants and fountain square, connects all the various sites and is the perfect place to relax and explore.
La Halle du Haras welcomes local producers in a 1,300 m² space, which includes tasting stalls, a shared dining area and a café.
La Villa du Haras: a venue where people can meet and exchange ideas, promoting social ties and supporting community involvement.
The Cité Endowment Fund
CITIA set up an endowment fund to support its public interest project.

By joining this fund, our patrons contribute to the conception, organisation, and running of the Annual Exhibitions. They participate to the implementation of artistic and cultural education initiatives and programmes. Finally, they take part in the creation, through organising artists residencies at the Cité, up to the presentation of their artistic work during the Annecy Festival.
