Next autumn, the Annecy Festival Residency 2026 winners will settle into their new home right at the heart of the Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation.
After five years at the Papeteries – Image Factory, the Annecy Festival Residency is now moving into this new cultural setting, a venue steeped in heritage and creativity that is perfect for nurturing the most ambitious projects.
The Villa's unique environment will ensure the winners have the best conditions to develop the graphic universe of their future animation feature films. Over a three-month period, they will benefit from personalised support and regular guidance from the CITIA teams and specialist mentors.
A highly creative environment, the Annecy Festival Residency provides artists with the valuable time to experiment, deepen their research and nurture their projects through exploration and new encounters. This 2026 edition is a golden opportunity to develop ideas and test concepts.

Once again, the sheer diversity of the proposals made the selection process challenging, but the committee succeeded in reaching a consensus on a number of compelling projects that were both meaningful and creatively rich. These projects stood out for their powerful messages, the relevance of the Residency to the filmmakers' careers, and their ambition to one day see their stories brought to life on the big screen.
The selection committee, composed of leading figures in animation – Camille Condemi (Producer, Caïmans Productions), Amandine Fredon (Director), Doris Gruel (Distributor, Little KMBO), Stéphane Kazandjian (Screenwriter) and Benjamin Renner (Director) – unanimously selected the following projects:
